Academy Membership

Individual Academy memberships are available at $35 per calendar year to Academy riders of all ages who show a school horse used in a lesson program.

Becoming a member means involvement with individuals dedicated to promoting the American Saddlebred horse and:

  • Eligibility for participation in Youth Achievement Award Program (YAAP)

  • Eligibility for Academy Year End Awards

  • Eligibility for Youth Scholarship Awards (ages 11-17)

  • Information about MSHA-sponsored events: horse shows, clinics, annual awards banquet, Saddlebred demonstrations and more

  • Discount on membership in the American Saddlebred Horse Association as an affiliate member

Academy membership is not required to participate in Academy Equestrian Finals at the Minnesota Saddlbred State Championship Horse Show, but membership is encouraged!

Standard Membership

Standard memberships are available at $45 per calendar year. Standard memberships are for adults 18 and over, as well as for families, including parents or guardians and youth ages 17 and younger. 

Becoming a member means involvement with individuals dedicated to promoting the American Saddlebred horse and:

  • Eligibility for the Minnesota State Championship Horse Show (with payment of recording fee and participation in three qualifying Minnesota horse shows)

  • Eligibility for Year End Awards Program (with payment of recording fee)

  • Information about MSHA-sponsored events: horse shows, clinics, annual awards banquet, Saddlebred demonstrations and more

  • Discount on membership in the American Saddlebred Horse Association as an affiliate member

  • Member stable online listing 

  • Eligibility to enter young horses in Futurity classes

  • Eligibility for Youth Achievement Award Program (YAAP)

  • Eligibility for the Flaming Award for a 13 and under rider

  • Eligibility for Youth Scholarship Awards (ages 11-17)

RECORD A HORSE OR RIDER

Recording a show horse or equitation rider grants eligibility to earn MSHA Year End Awards and the chance to participate in the Minnesota Saddlebred State Championship Horse Show (with three qualifying MN horse shows). Record before your first horse show to accrue all your points and qualify for championships! Academy riders do not need to submit recordings.

$25 per Equitation rider
